Amount: $500

The Nur M Bayomi Scholarship Fund has been setup to sponsor the education of young adults who wish to study, and achieve a recognized certificate or degree that enables them to work in the fields of HVAC, plumbing, electrical or electronics. The scholarship will also provide career development opportunities for teens, allowing them to explore their strengths and mitigate their weaknesses by pursuing career building internships, training programs.

Story

We lost one of our own, Nur Bayomi. During his teenage years, Nur played a crucial role here at ILIA; essentially acting as a right hand in the organization. For many years, Nur acted as a leader. He was always helping younger students, creating programs, and always willing to lend a hand. Therefore, ILIA is creating The Nur Bayomi Memorial Fund to honor Nur. The Nur Bayomi Memorial Fund will allow students who study similar majors to Nur to become eligible for a scholarship to assist in their studies.

Nur was also a strong advocate of safe spaces for teens, where they can socialize and build friendships in an environment away from the temptations that attack today's teens. Portion of the scholarship will be used for safe space opportunities for teens in Howard County and Baltimore City.
