February 20th, Jude Jawhar Winter 2022 Awardee Announced

We are excited to announce that Charessa Wilkeron has been awarded the Jude Jawhar Memorial Scholarship for Winter 2022 in the amount of $500. Charessa is currently a Nursing Student at Baltimore City Community College studying to one day become a Nurse Practitioner. She started her nursing journey almost 10 years ago where she worked in care management to help those in the Baltimore community.. It was during that time when she wanted to become a nurse to help the lives of others as they had done for her. She aspires to become a nurse one day and change the lives of the people in her community. She strives to advance her degree and after obtaining an Associate Degree in Nursing, plans to go on to become a nurse and be a guide for those in her family and community and use this opportunity to help those in need. 

February 20th, Jude Jawhar Winter 2022 Awardee Announced

We are excited to announce that Marcus Anderson has been awarded the Jude Jawhar Memorial Scholarship for Winter 2022 in the amount of $500. Marcus is currently a Nursing Student at Baltimore City Community College studying to one day become a Nurse Practitioner. He started his nursing journey a few years back wanting to help those in his community around him. He did not see many male nurses in the nursing field and wanted to change that as he saw it negatively affecting those around him. He completed his degree in Associates of Science and plans to become a Registered Nurse one day. He wants to make a difference in the lives of his patients and share his knowledge to those around him.

February 20th, Jude Jawhar Winter 2022 Awardee Announced

We are excited to announce that Gbemisola Ogunsanya has been awarded the Jude Jawhar Memorial Scholarship for Winter 2022 in the amount of $500. Gbemisola is currently an Undergraduate Nursing Student at Baltimore City Community College studying to one day become a Nurse Practitioner. She started her nursing journey early in 2020 hoping to begin studying in the nursing field striving to become a nurse one day. Growing up, she wanted to use her knowledge and kindness to help those in her community pushing her to go into the nursing field. At the end of her studies, she hopes to become a Nurse Practitioner and specialize in pediatrics and mental health to help many children and teens around her. 

June 5th, Jude Jawhar Summer 2021 Awardee Announced

We are excited to announce that Leann Rossetti has been awarded the Jude Jawhar Memorial Scholarship for Summer 2021 in the amount of $500. She started her nursing journey 7 years ago at Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing. It was during her pediatric clinical experience that she developed a passion for pediatric oncology. Her first job as an RN was on the pediatric oncology unit at Johns Hopkins Hospital. While there, she met as she describes "a remarkable young girl named Jude Jawhar. I was immediately drawn to her infectious smile and love for life. While I was Jude’s nurse, she taught me how to be a better care-taker and medical professional. She showed me her strength, which I admired each day that I worked with her." After Jude’s passing and Leann's time in pediatric oncology, she moved onto adult oncology. As an adult oncology nurse, I care for cancer patients 18 years and older from the time of their diagnosis, through the course of their cancer journey, to end of life care. She strives to advance her degree and become an Oncology Nurse Practitioner. She is currently obtaining my Family Nurse Practitioner degree from Walden University, while working as an oncology RN. 

May 27th, Race2College Summer 2021 Awardee Announced

We are excited to announce that Ibtihal Malley has been awarded the Race2College Scholarship for Summer 2021 in the amount of $500. She is a full-time student at Barnard College of Columbia University, studying Middle Eastern, South Asian and African Studies, and minoring in Sociology. Her area of focus is on the Political Development of the West Bank before and after the Oslo Accords.

The scholarship will assist Ibtihal in pursuing additional studies in Arabic language, granting her access to plethora of literature on the Middle East and Muslim World, where Allah Willing she can take her research further.
